This shoot was a blast! Jo (aka…my awesome sister-in-law) teamed up with her co-worker Carly for this shoot. Jo and I had been brewing up ideas for a Lululemon shoot in Vancouver for a while now. Dressed in the most recent Lulu with the perfect spot on the Yaletown seawall, we put this morning workout session together. Thanks again to Jo and Carly for doing way too many pushups on that early Friday morning, you two are the best.
Everyone knows where to find Lululemon (which is here… www.lululemon.com) but if you want to find the awesome shoes from this shoot check out Str/ke Mvmnt here… www.strike-mvmnt.ca.
Don and I met in university in 2008, likely through a mutual friend since he was friends with everyone. I left university in 2011, Don carried on to graduate a couple years later and we didn’t see each other for a while.
Fast forwarding to 2015, I was at the gym, came around the corner and we had one of those “Whoa, what are you doing here?!” moments. After talking for a few minutes and I learnt that he had moved to Kelowna, got a good job, oh and took 1st place in the 2014 Men’s Physique A Class at the Western Canadians. He’s been training up for the competition again this month and here is a peek at his progress.
Good luck in this years competition Don, you’re going to kill it!
If you know Don, make sure to show him some love and write a comment below!
Each day that I get out of the house I witness the beauty that the Okanagan valley has to offer and I truly feel spoiled to live here. Having grown up in Revelstoke, I’ve been active my whole life biking, skiing, running and had a productive track career in high school…if you can call being good at track a “career.” Anyways, moving on!
Moving to the Okanagan with Nicole has inspired me to follow my passion for the outdoors and fitness and thus my photography is now capturing fitness driven individuals doing what they love. Here are some photos from recent shoots with my good friends Ryan (first set) and Markku (second set). Enjoy!
Also, if you’re wondering where to get the awesome hats that Ryan & Markku are wearing, check out Okanagan Lifestyle!
Ski, shoot, edit, repeat…is what I did for 4 days & nights this past January in the 2013 Revelstoke Photographer Showdown. I was honoured to be part of the competition along with four other super talented photographers who all brought their A-Game to compete for the title of top photographer in the 2nd Annual event. Difficult snow and weather conditions made the four days quite difficult to work with but with the help of a few close friends of mine that love to shred and chill in front of my camera, everything came together and I was beyond stoked to take home First Place.
A huge thank you to everyone that came out and supported all five of us photographers that night, my mom for cheering the loudest, Nikki for putting up with four long painful work days, Andrew for giving me a tour of the Revelation Gondola, Ben and Megan for the ride in the groomers, and Kieran, Ben, Casey, Kaleb, Brodie and Rylan for skiing. See you all at the 2014 Showdown. Enjoy the photos!
